Try and Tackle – November 14

England Women v Canada WomenWhat was the biggest story in North American international rugby this week – Canada’s massive punch up in Georgia, or the impressive effort by the USA in their close loss to the Maori All Blacks? That’s the key topic for this week’s round table, featuring, as always, Curtis Reed from This is American Rugby and Jeff Hull from CNN Bleacher Report.

The Canadian women wrapped up their European tour with a tough loss to England on Wednesday; the fellas contemplate what it means at the end of a mostly-impressive season for Francois Ratier’s squad.

There’s also time to review the NACRA 7s – which Canada’s men’s and women’s Maple Leafs squads both won in impressive fashion. We chat with Lucas Hammond, one of the grizzled 20 year old veterans of the squad (hey, it’s a game for young guys and gals) and also with Brad Cowdroy, one of the humorous commentators for the weekend-long webcast. Hammond talks about the play on the field while Cowdroy, given time to look back, gives us his thoughts on the whole experience from the outsider’s perspective.

It’s a fun one this week.

This is Try and Tackle.
