Paul and Ed on Vancouver sports ownership, NHL trades and prospects

VANCOUVER, BC_JULY 25_2014: BC Lions owner David Braley takes time to congratulate the Winnipeg Blue Bombers coach as they defeated the Lions 23-6 Friday night at BC Place. (Photo by Kim Stallknecht/PNG) (For Sports Story) [PNG Merlin Archive] Ed Willes and Paul Chapman talk about the prospect of the Aquilini family buying the BC Lions, what would that mean for the Lions, for the CFL, and perhaps most importantly, the Canucks.

Ed and Paul then get into the NHL trade deadline and what that might mean for the Canucks.

Ed looks at the names that could potentially move, and which ones make the most sense.

The lads also look trade prospects around the NHL, and what the stretch drive and playoffs look like for Canada’s teams. With Connor McDavid and the Oilers revival, growth by the Calgary Flames, the emergence of young talent in Winnipeg, and a team with potential for a deep run in Montreal, things are looking a lot rosier for Canada’s NHL teams, outside of B.C. Of course.

Lastly, the lads delve into pop culture and finish the podcast with some discussion on the best SNL cast members of all time.
