Chapman and Willes on lottery possibilities

2015 NHL Draft - Rounds 2-7It’s draft lottery time for the Canucks and Paul and Ed discuss options for the Canucks if they land in the cherised top two spots, and options if they don’t.

The track record for the Canucks when it comes to drafts and luck isn’t exactly littered with success and Ed recounts the wheel of misfortune that started with an unlucky spin for their very first draft pick in 1970.

The lads also talk about the hiring of coach Travis Green, and if he is the right person for the lineup of prospects Vancouver has. Green professed this week to want goals, and to play a more exciting brand of hockey. Sure, that’s what the fans want to hear, but Ed surmises those words could bury Green if the team can’t follow through on his promise.

They also look at the NHL playoffs, how the Edmonton Oilers have transformed themselves with grit, and how the Canucks need to do the same.

With the draft lottery being such a big deal for local fans, Ed and Paul then look at the ongoing NFL draft, and how it has become such compelling TV, largely because it is such a big factor in the building of success in all North American sports.
