The ex-Canucks, ex-Ducks, ex-Leafs GM has sent the Flames’ head man packing, insisting he’s looking for a new, young fresh face.
Jay Feaster was a dead duck the day that Burke was hired. That’s obvious.
Chappy, J-Mac and PJ weigh in.
Burke gets lots of credit for the Canucks’ early success, so does Dave Nonis. Mike Gillis made some big moves that lead to the cup run (hello Christian Ehrhoff and Manny Malhotra) but still many fans aren’t keen on him anymore.
How do you assess him at this point. No one’s suggesting a Burke type as a replacement – or are they? – but the fact remains that Gillis is on the hot seat. Nothing’s changed since the beginning of the season.
Also it’s never too early to talk about the Bruins coming back to town. They’ve not been here in two and a half years. Plus they’re still in the news with the Shawn Thornton suspension hearing *still* pending. (How does it take so long?!)
