Vancouver Chief Constable Jim Chu

jim_chuIn Depth host Ian Austin speaks with Vancouver Police Chief Jim Chu about daily decision making when dealing with distraught individuals, and offers condolences to the family of a man shot last weekend by police. Chu, a 35-year veteran with the Vancouver Police Department who was appointed Chief Constable in August 2007, also talks about soft policing – interacting, smiling and communicating rather than old-school enforcement tactics.

Jim holds a bachelor of business administration degree from Simon Fraser University and a master of business administration degree from the University of British Columbia. He is a graduate of the FBI National Executive Institute.
